GL communities works with people who are unemployed to build their skills and confidence through training and volunteering opportunities.

In 2016 we started working with The Going the Extra Mile (GEM) Project which aims to engage with and support individuals in Gloucestershire who are currently dealing with circumstances that are potentially causing barriers to work. The GEM project helps move these people closer towards education, training, volunteering or work, including self-employment.

In addition to this project we are running a Growing Communities project that is working with volunteers to develop a community growing space as part of the Gloucester Services site.  We also have opportunities for people to develop their skills through the Gateway Café, GL Communities Charity Shop and a new venture for child-minders.

GL communities works with lots of volunteers across its different projects, so do contact us if you would like to get involved.
